Inside the Inov8v Marine Captain's Class: Insights and Innovation for Maritime Professionals

Discover highlights from the successful Captain's Class event, where maritime professionals came together to explore innovation and leadership in the marine industry. Read about key moments, expert insights, and what made this gathering a must-attend for industry leaders.

Each year, Inov8v Marine Group hosts a comprehensive two-day training course tailored for captains and users of our WESMAR and ABT TRAC products. This course combines hands-on training with product controls, advanced troubleshooting techniques, and detailed technical sessions to equip our customers with the in-depth knowledge necessary to operate our products with confidence and proficiency. Beyond technical expertise, the course also fosters a unique opportunity for participants to network, share experiences, and build valuable relationships with other industry professionals who rely on the same advanced marine equipment.

At the end of March, we successfully held two sessions of our Captain’s Class, bringing together captains and industry professionals for an enriching and informative experience. The feedback from these sessions was overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing their appreciation for both the depth of knowledge shared and the hands-on training provided.

The first day of the course began with an introduction to Inov8v Marine Group, highlighting the company’s origins through the integration of two well-respected brands, WESMAR and ABT TRAC. Following this, guests were given an exclusive tour of our facilities, including our office spaces, manufacturing shop, and composite shop. This provides participants with firsthand insight into the product development process and the skilled team members responsible for bringing these innovative technologies to life.

The focus of the first day was hydraulics and thrusters, delving into the mechanics and technologies that drive movement and force in our products. Led by our Engineering Manager, Jason Smith, the session covered the intricate design and engineering aspects of our thruster systems from both companies. Participants then engaged in hands-on training with our experienced service technicians, Bob Smith and Graham Baldwin, who provided personalized guidance on troubleshooting and maintenance. This practical session allowed captains to have their technical questions answered and develop ongoing relationships with our expert technicians, creating a reliable point of contact for future support on the water.

Day two centered on vessel stabilization and control systems, emphasizing long-term maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of performance. Our team has developed detailed presentations supported by visual aids such as images and diagrams, ensuring a thorough understanding of the engineering behind the systems. The session wrapped up with a review and certifications, followed by a chance to chat and build relationships with fellow captains over some snacks and drinks.

At Inov8v Marine Group, we believe that education is crucial to delivering exceptional service, and we take great pride in sharing our knowledge and expertise. This training is just one of the ways we strive to support our customers and help them succeed. We are deeply gratified by the opportunity to connect with users and receive feedback that highlights the value of these interactions. As one attendee remarked:

"From the CEO on down, the pride in their work is clearly evident…we feel fortunate and grateful to have attended this class."

Other attendees shared their thoughts:

"Overall, this was a great experience that I will talk about for years! I didn’t know enough about the company, but now I’m thoroughly impressed, which is not easily done!"

"Roger and his crew were so welcoming, genuine, and informative. They clearly enjoy and take pride in their work. Wonderful to see such high-quality manufacturing in the U.S. I’m very impressed with the products and the hospitality. Thank you."

"It’s hard to imagine how this experience could be any better—just the right balance of classroom and hands-on time."
